Overview of the Master of Apologetics Program at BTS

The Master of Apologetics program at Birmingham Theological Seminary is a comprehensive 40-hour program tailored for lay leaders in the church and individuals in the non-profit sector. This program provides an in-depth understanding of biblical, theological, and apologetic aspects of Christianity, making it ideal for those seeking to enhance their faith's interaction with contemporary culture.

Program Structure and Focus

This program encompasses a full scope of Biblical Theology, an Introduction to Systematic Theology, and historical context as a foundation for studying introductory and advanced apologetic methods. It includes courses on apologetics and evangelism, Christ and Culture, and offers three electives from the Public Theology program.

Degree Pathways and Flexibility

While not all courses in the Master of Apologetics (M. Ap) program directly contribute to Master of Arts or Divinity programs, the degree is non-terminal. Upon completion, students have the option to roll it into an M.A. or M.Div. program, with the understanding that the M. Ap degree must be vacated for the more comprehensive degree.
