Reeder Center for Pastoral Studies
Department Overview
The Reeder Center for Pastoral Studies (RCPS) exists to preserve the pastoral and personal teaching ministry of Dr. Harry Reeder, to build on his teaching legacy, and to train men for vocational ministry using his biblical philosophy of ministry. In today’s rapidly changing world, the demand for steadfast, biblical, pastoral leadership is more critical than ever.
This mission of the Reeder Center for Pastoral Studies:
- To inspire and equip current and future pastors utilizing the transformative teachings of Pastor Reeder – integrated with our current biblical curriculum – fostering spiritual growth, theological depth, and practical ministry skills.
- The Reeder Center will produce future-forward resources for pastoral theology utilizing Pastor Reeder's legacy content.
RCPS accelerates pastoral training, shepherding, and visionary leadership, while also countering the genuine risk of compromising sound biblical teaching. RCPS dedicates resources to grow the legacy and impact of Dr. Reeder’s ministry. The RCPS will respond to the challenges faced by traditional seminaries like affordability with an innovative tuition model, accessibility through flexible scheduling, and accountability by placing academic discipleship in the hands of the local church.
Under the oversight of Birmingham Theological Seminary, where Dr. Reeder taught for over 23 years, The Reeder Center will stand as a testament to the timeless principles of Christian leadership evidenced in Harry Reeder’s ministry. Rooted in Dr. Reeder’s biblical philosophy of ministry, the center is committed to training future pastors and lay leaders while building, developing and preserving shepherds for the Kingdom.
