Ike Reeder: President Reeder joined BTS in April of 2018 after serving for four years as the National Director of Church Relations at Covenant College (PCA). He started his career with over a decade in education, teaching English and Bible at the Secondary and Undergraduate levels. After spending five years in the retail industry, he returned to work in the local church with Young Business Leaders in Birmingham, AL. President Reeder graduated from Covenant College after spending time studying at Oxford University and holds a Master’s degree in Literature from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary. As a literary critic, he focused on The Inklings and published work on C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as narrative theory, phenomenology, and game theory. He now concentrates his research on the intersection of theology, culture, and the church.  Ike has lived from Alabama to Austria, England to North Carolina, and Tennessee to Alaska. He played soccer in college and on the semi-pro level for the Charlotte Eagles. Ike is married to Angie and has two stepchildren, Virginia, and Win. He and his family reside in Birmingham, AL with their dog Vesper and their cat Smokey. 

Dr. Thad James: After a 25-year career in retail sales and multi-store regional management, Dr. Thad James, Jr. began his seminary education at Birmingham Theological Seminary, where he has served since 2003 as Vice President.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Leadership from Birmingham Theological Seminary, a Ph.D. in Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary.  Along with teaching and counseling seminary students, supervising the faculty and curriculums, he is the Director of the BTS Prison Initiative at Bibb County Correctional Facility in Brent, AL. providing a Certificate in Biblical Studies and/or a Master of Biblical Studies degree. He is the president of the board of Unbound216. a prison recidivism program behind the walls and outside of the walls along with being the president of the board of Maranathan Academy, a school for at-risk youth and a professor/faculty advisor at Africa Reformation Theological Seminary in Uganda. Dr. James is a Ruling Elder at Household of Faith Church (Presbyterian Church in America) and a devoted family man.  He and his wife Yvonne are the parents of six children, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and five years ago retired from 21 years of being licensed therapeutic foster parents.  Thad and Yvonne have been residents of Birmingham since 1992. His precious love went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2021 from complications of Covid and pneumonia.
